Senior Privacy and Product Counsel

Infosum / London / Legal Services
Job Overview

InfoSum was founded in 2016 with a vision to connect the world’s data without ever sharing it. The company has multiple patents, protecting its invention of the ‘non-movement of data.’ InfoSum is based in the US, UK, and Central Europe, with offices across Europe and North America. The company is poised for continued growth following a Series B investment in August 2021, and a rapidly expanding client base.

We are looking to recruit a senior data privacy and product lawyer to develop the capacity of our existing legal team and improve our advocacy within the marketplace.

You will be a key member of the legal team, providing leadership on all matters as well as particular expertise in data privacy, which will feed into both our product development work as well as our marketing activities.

You will already be a senior lawyer with at least 8 years’ PQE, either working in house on the media / digital side of a business, with extensive exposure to adtech and martech, or you will be in private practice, at least at senior associate level, and ready to make the transition in house.

You will have a strong understanding of technology and software development, and relish the opportunity to work in cross functional groups alongside members of the compliance, engineering and product teams. Given our growing portfolio of software patents, it would be a bonus if you could contribute in this area.

You will have deep experience of GDPR and hands-on experience of advising a rapidly growing company.

  • Act as a key legal advisor to our product and engineering teams, who are building the core InfoSum Platform.
  • Partner with our Head of Privacy to ensure our external positioning is consistent with the latest developments in privacy laws worldwide and provide expert advice on data protection issues in the wider market.
  • Support our existing legal team and sales team on complex contractual issues, particularly on matters pertaining to product features and service levels, as well as data protection issues.
  • Participate in the review and coordination of potential privacy or data security incidents, including investigations, notifications, and other resolution efforts.
  • Lead on all group level privacy matters, such as intercompany agreements, international transfers etc.
  • You will report directly to the President, Business & Legal Affairs. The role can be based in either our London or Basingstoke office, although travel to both offices will be required on a regular basis, in addition to travel to our growing network of international offices.
