Job Overview

The Information Security group goal is to achieve high eco system and operation resilience by ensuring Outbrain is secure while maintaining our cultural value.

As Head Of Information Security, you will report directly to the CIO and will be a management member of the Business Technology department and company senior management. You will lead a tech savvy group, be responsible for steering strong and professional teams of Cyber security, Anti Fraud, ITGC and GRC, in order to drive cross-organizational security programs,various certification tracks and risk management, along selecting and implementing cutting edge technologies.

This role has a strong business, product and R&D footprint and direct impact on the business on top of Corporate IT and Production infrastructure.

In this role you will:

  • Lead Outbrain information security, vision, strategy, planning and teams, including product and infrastructure, enterprise security, anti-fraud and compliance to protect the company’s assets and data.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee enforcement of policies, process improvement, and associated certification based on industry-standard best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Grow and inspire the team as it delivers solutions to protect and enable Outbrain scale and growth, in part by nurturing a security team culture that complements the overall Outbrain culture.

  • Lead application security, bug bounty program, identity and access governance, security operations, and technology governance, risk, and compliance programs (ISO, TAG, GDPR...)

  • Manage and introduce anti fraud, data driven and data science models and technological solutions to maintain high quality and safe ad serving

  • Strong customer focus, collaborate with the business teams in communicating our security practices as part of RFPs, sales and security assessment processes.

  • Work closely with Product, R&D, DevOps, IS and IT groups management to ensure security by design and push forward Security & Anti-Fraud activities.

  • Influence the design and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans, procedures, audits, and enhancements.

  • Design and provide security education, training and awareness to Outbrain employees/engineers and management as necessary.

  • Own the company’s ITGC domain and Framework and develop best-in-class security programs and policies while achieving company velocity and resilience eco-system.

  • Your technical background is broad and your approach to security is pragmatic and business-focused.

  • You have background and skills in Data, Application Security and DevOps security

  • You have an ability to adapt to a fast-moving Cybersecurity landscape and keep pace with latest thinking and new security technologies and risks

  • You are skilled at operating in a complex, global, collaborative, and cross-functional organization.

  • You enjoy placing complex security issues in appropriate business context and are experienced using quantitative risk management to prioritize and evaluate investment decisions.

  • You are a great written and verbal communicator and are comfortable and experienced presenting to and facilitating discussion with the executive leadership.

  • You are experienced in handling security incidents as and when they arise, ensuring the response is robust and thorough and underlying issues are addressed through collective learning and improvement.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, other technical degree - or equivalent work experience

  • Security Certifications -advantage (CISSP/CISM/CISA/OSCP etc..)

  • +10 years of experience in the information security field, with at least 3 years of senior management experience

  • Proven records of dealing with complex projects and meeting conflicting demands

  • Ideally, experience with a public company requirements and with online/Internet companies with large scale production and continuous deployment
