Job Overview

Reporting to the IT Director, US, the Desktop Engineering role will provide maintenance of the computer systems environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the internal Help Desk. You will be responsible for administration and internal support of Amobee’s PCs, printers, and related equipment. Atlassian products are an integral part of our core infrastructure. Including: software development code management, project/task management, customer-facing ticketing, company-wide chat, information-sharing and collaboration.

We are looking for more ways to automate and enhance our business in smart ways, and the Desktop Engineer is vital to bringing this vision alive. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and identify real solutions that will make our business operate more efficiently. Tasks include end user support, license tracking, and performing PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations.


  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware
  • Support for the Atlassian product suite which Amobee uses to manage and streamline business and technology workflows and information sharing
  • Train, guide, and assist end-users in use of Amobee’s Software Catalog
  • Stay apprised of issues in real-time and solve them proactively
  • Discover opportunities to improve the workflow of daily tasks and lead efforts to drive improvements within IT processes
  • Collaborate effectively with other technical teams to exploit new technologies to enhance the applications and service infrastructure
  • Perform requirements gathering, business process workflows, and determine ways to improve the day to day processes in place as well as identify where functionality can/cannot meet user requests
  • Create and maintain detailed technical and user facing documentation
  • Work on various projects within the department and assist other departments as needed
  • Respond to queries either in person or over the phone
  • Maintain daily performance of computer systems and clean up computers
  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software
  • Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems
  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems
  • Install computer peripherals for users
  • Follow up with end users to ensure issues have been resolved
  • Gain feedback from end users about computer usage
  • Run reports to determine malfunctions that continue to occur

  • Qualifications

  • 2+ years of IT related experience preferred
  • Ability to work in an agile environment; strong team player and also able to work independently
  • Excellent ability to multitask to meet tight deadlines and changing priorities
  • Ability to analyze, review and document current functionality to determine potential areas of improvement
  • Good business acumen and solutions oriented
  • Good presentation skills and ability to effectively communicate and share knowledge with internal and external contacts at all levels and international locations
  • 1+ years of scripting in PowerShell
  • Experience with Cloud productivity software such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365
  • Experience with MDM solutions such as Workspace ONE, SCCM, or JAMF
  • Logical and methodical in troubleshooting application related problems
  • Able to discover, rapidly absorb and implement new technologies and procedures
  • Will need to be ‘on call’ for certain weekends during the year
  • Other ad hoc tasks and projects as business needs dictate
