The Data Engineer is a new role to support the Programmatic Advertising Director at Publisher Collective. Ideally you will have an understanding of programmatic advertising - but candidates without this will also be considered. With 2 data analysts in your team, you will develop and maintain our internal and some external reporting. We use Google Data Studio, Google Big Query, and this role would require at least an intermediate understanding of Python, Airflow and working with API’s and multiple datasets. There are a lot of technologies working together, and different reports and analysis to conduct. Working on pricing, demand partner reconciliations, as well as ad hoc reports and analysis. The team sits within the Programmatic Team, and you will get a front seat view of the advertising monetisation framework across our portfolio of sites.
You will have opportunities to develop and grow revenues and help deliver against our strategy. Unlike other analytical roles, you will have high exposure as you support different teams across the business. We encourage you to develop relationships with our technology partners, and work collaboratively with them.
Responsibilities:
Transform, clean, and concatenate disparate datasets
Manage and optimise databases and Extraction Transform Load (ETL) pipelines
Manage and develop 2 direct reports, their workloads and deliver accurate and timely reports
Flag/troubleshoot variances or issues and document in Asana - our project manager tool
Work with partners to optimise performance and troubleshoot issues
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of programmatic revenues.
Build ad hoc reports as needed to support Programmatic, Network, and Sales departments
Maintain key mapping spreadsheets for use across many reports/tools.
Quality check a variety of datasets to ensure utmost accuracy
Requirements:
Highly numerical with strong analytical skills
Extensive and demonstrable experience with Excel/Google Sheets, particularly pivot tables and VLOOKUPS
Strong understanding of Google Data Studio and Google BigQuery
Strong knowledge of Python, API’s, Airflow
General understanding of ETL Process
Highly organised and process driven
