Lead Software Engineer - Scala

As a Scala Lead Software Engineer you will guide a team of highly motivated individuals to work on Big Data Scala/Spark. You will provide data to the majority of internal teams to make sure exceptional value to our customers will be created. Furthermore you will be responsible for the development and management of high-scale enterprise distributed systems.

Your responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy and maintain products services
• Involved in Technical Designs and ability to handle complex application features
• Collaborate with different teams across the world and share knowledge
• Write Automated Unit Test to have extensive code coverage for Unit Testing
• Apply best practices defined by different functional and non-functional areas
• Lead a motivated team to deliver high quality products

We expect

• A minimum of 8-10 years’ experience
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Scala or extensive knowledge of Java
• Strong knowledge of collection framework, traits, implicit classes and pattern matching in Scala
• Strong working knowledge of Spark for data analytics
• Strong knowledge of data frames, RDD, windowing and aggregation queries in Spark
• Experience working with Kafka
• Knowledge working on Stream Data with Hadoop
• Exposure to DevOps and SQL (Postgres, MS SQL) will be considered as advantage
• Excited to learn new technologies as NoSQL database (Aerospike, MongoDB)
• Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker will be considered as plus
• Knowledge of the agile software development cycle including coding standards, source control management, build processes, testing, and deployment
