Job Overview

The Managing Partner of Commercial & Business Operations leads this department and is a key senior member of the management team at Finecast.

The role and function serves to work across the business, working closely with all teams, supporting the Managing Director and empowering the UK leadership team in managing three main operational pillars: commercial ops, business ops and transformation, people and culture.

Client Services also report in to this role, but through a dedicated Head of CS leading that team day to day.

The scope of work is broad, and will cover areas such as the following, and more, within the three pillars of remit:

Commercial operations

  • Create, evolve and monitor best practice commercial procedures and ways of working, including client contracts and addendums
  • Develop greater visibility and analysis of client profitability, surfacing insights and making recommendations
  • Build and manage a collaborative relationship network with agency commercial leadership and stakeholders

People and Culture

  • Establish and ensure optimal recruitment and onboarding experience and standards for new starters, hiring managers and the business overall
  • Prioritise learning and development across the organisation, empowering teams and managers to maximise the development potential of everyone
  • Champion and drive culture, values and team identity

Business operations and transformation

  • Oversee major business change projects, including people, process, product and systems/tech.
  • Intervene as necessary to improve or course correct suboptimal cross-team operations.

Candidate requirements:

The ideal candidate will have considerable working experience of business management, consulting and programme management, including client delivery, particularly within media and technology sectors.

This role will work in a fast growing, rapidly evolving new company to identify, shape and implement change. So the candidate will need to be comfortable in working with multiple senior peers and stakeholders and be able to problem solve, and take initiative and ownership.

It is important that the candidate is aware and knowledgeable of the current industry environment and able to demonstrate that.

Given the breadth of responsibilities, experience in influencing people, how they work and collaborate together; how a business behaves, its values and its agility in the future marketplace will be valuable.

As a driver of change, you will need to challenge accepted thinking and inspire new ideas and approaches.

Business acumen, client centricity and a commercial mind-set are a given as is a genuine interest in people and technology, and the transformational challenges facing organisations.


Experience of leading and operating at a senior level in an advanced television, digital media, or advertising technology business.

A deep understanding of digital media concepts, processes and technologies, with a demonstrable experience of using these to drive business improvement, client satisfaction and profitability.

Strong track record of delivering high quality work outcomes in challenging circumstances.

A confidence in producing excellent results in ambiguous and dynamic environments maintaining a flexible approach and open mind.
