Outbrain is seeking a results-driven Global Head of Corporate Communications to drive Reputation and Awareness from concept through completion for Outbrain. This position requires deep experience in public relations and brand building, This role will leverage the candidate’s strong storytelling skills preferably in the online technology space. Advertising technology experience is a plus, but not required.
As the Global Head of Corporate Communications, you will be responsible for developing and executing on global strategic communications plans to tell Outbrain's story in the marketplace. This position will create storytelling around company initiatives and activities both internally and externally, build and maximize press, analyst and trade association relationships and manage prepared and effective crisis communications programs. This role will also manage global relationships with partner public relations firms in the many markets Outbrain serves.
What you'll be doing:
Guide the corporate external narrative and identity
Manage agencies, and in-house team focused on media relations and executive communications
Maintain a good understanding of company stakeholders and company goals and objectives to align brand strategy
Create comprehensive communications strategies, plans, and roadmaps to reinforce our thought leadership, strategic brand vision, overall reputation, and more
Build, establish and grow relationships with key reporters in the US to boost coverage and establish CEO briefing cycles
Brief and prepare leadership for media interactions and public appearances
Deeply understand advertising technology industry trends and search for opportunities to leverage these trends for media coverage
Elevate our work and people through media coverage, executive speaking engagements, thought leadership pieces, and award submissions
Unearth interesting stories about our people and culture and find unique opportunities to promote internally and externally
Partner with the CMO and senior leadership on reputation and issues management
Draft press releases and communications, presentations, and speeches for senior management
Play a key role in advancing the brand initiative
Devise key messages, timelines, press releases, and other materials to facilitate the dissemination of news
Drive best practices and analytics around all marketing communications initiatives globally
What you need to be successful:
Strategic thinker who is results-oriented and can deliver high-value programs at a tactical level
Experienced at working in global organization across various time zones and with multiple stakeholders
Skilled communicator able to articulate complex ideas and business issues verbally and in writing
Superior writing, presentation, and project management skills
Ability to spot, present and exploit latent opportunities quickly
Take charge attitude with willingness to jump into complex situations
Collaborative, team-oriented work style who can embrace and drive cultural change
Must thrive in a fast-paced, fluid environment and be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities
Previous experience managing and developing a team
Proven experience successfully supporting communications for cross-functional teams
