Software Engineer - Quality Engineering (QE)

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic QA Engineer who will be responsible for contributing to our software quality engineering efforts. You are passionate about all things software and quality engineering, and have extensive knowledge of the software development lifecycle.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering (QA), this individual will be responsible for developing best in class test automation frameworks and associated user scenarios in order to ensure quality across all VideoAmp products.

The successful candidate is a motivated, hardworking engineer who possesses an extremely high bar for themselves and the quality of their work product. This is a highly technical position that requires a breadth of knowledge across multiple systems as well as a depth of knowledge on very specific technologies.

TECHNOLOGY PROFICIENCIES:

• Extensive knowledge of software development best practices and quality assurance methods
• Experience building frameworks for end-to-end data quality including UI, API, and data architectures
• A deep knowledge of advanced quality software tools and services
• Familiarity with the SCRUM process and available organizational tools

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and build test automation leveraging a framework-based approach within a continuous deployment environment
• Define user scenarios and acceptance tests that ensure thorough test coverage of functionality leveraging various technologies (web, mobile, data and API)
• Assist in reproducing and troubleshooting key issues impacting our products
• Collaborate with Development to understand and eliminate technical challenges or constraints impacting testability of the system
• Leverage data gathered from various sources in order to identify potential trends/issues within the system

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will be proficient in both testing and architectural proficiency leading in a quality engineering capacity. This person will have strong foundational knowledge of QA workflow architecture and principles.

Additionally, we highlight the following personal, professional, and technological characteristics the ideal candidate will possess:

• 2+ years experience with test automation design and development
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools
• Skilled with distributed systems, algorithms, and relational databases
• Experience in API testing
• Experience with database testing including defining and implementing known state test data sets
• College degree in the area of Computer Science or related technology disciplines preferred
