About the team

Finecast in the UK is made up of an expanding team of 100+ people spanning Engagement, Operations, Client Services, Marketing, Business Operations, Finance and Product, Data & Analytics functions. Finecast is a team of individuals shaping the future of TV advertising and as such we set high standards for the individuals we hire and the skillsets they bring to our business.

The role objectives

The Junior Data Engineer is an exciting new role within the Product, Data and Analytics team, supporting the product, reporting and platform developments that will enable Finecast to build a best in class offering. This role will be designing, building and maintaining cloud-based pipelines. It includes working with our Analytics team to provide clean, accurate data for dashboards and modelling.

Key responsibilities

Maintaining and developing a cloud based data lake

  • Maintain and develop ETL processes into our cloud infrastructures
  • Be one of the key owner maintaining the data feeds; managing and optimising the data intake, validation and standardisation
  • Ensuring that data pipelines refresh, with communication of problems to data users
  • Ensuring best-practices for data acquisition and warehousing
  • Create and maintain processes to ensure that data is valid, up to date, reliable and of a high quality
  • Working with our Data Science and Analytics team to provide data for their models
  • Support the business intelligence and data visualisation capabilities
  • Working with our Analytics, Audience and Product teams to provide data support
  • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant technologies and tools to support data management

Candidate requirements

The following skills and attributes will be required:

  • Experience with Data Engineering or Data Operations.
  • Experience with cloud databases and data pipelines
  • Experience setting up ETL processes and dataflow
  • Experience with Cloud Services, preferably Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience in supporting and maintaining high-standard data security practices is valuable
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of the media advertising ecosystem advantageous
