The role of Head of Sightline (GroupM's Digital OOH product) is to spearhead the creation of significant opportunities across all GroupM clients in your market. With a main focus on the Proprietary DOOH business Sightline, you will Focus on senior stakeholders within Tier 1 and 2 advertisers, you will be a trusted advisor that can find opportunities for Xaxis/ Sightline to add value to their media ecosystem and be able to quickly and effectively push those into the activation teams. This role includes taking accountability for the commercial delivery of your market, and proactively addressing any areas of underperformance.

For our business to work, you will be required to spend time of certain areas of the business. Your key responsibilities are as follows:

Partner – 25%

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of industry business models both across marketing and beyond
  • Quickly and effectively spot areas of opportunity for Xaxis/ Sightline to add value to client businesses through outcomes-based consulting
  • Understand the end-to-end planning and activation process for media within each agency partner, and be able to harness this to insert Xaxis/ Sightline’ Outcomes value at the appropriate time
  • Build strong and enduring agency and client relationships; be the representative for Xaxis/ Sightline - the key point of contact; know what the agency and client expects of Xaxis/ Sightline
  • Work with the client engagement and activation teams to set the standard for client servicing and delivery
  • Be the point of escalation for any client servicing issues
  • Partner with the agency to facilitate training for adoption of digital standards and best practices pertaining to technology utilization or structure
  • Identify and eliminate barriers to success across the media supply chain, consulting with Xaxis/ Sightline peers to be a key input to product roadmaps
  • Be the key POC for global and regional client strategy teams, ensuring that Xaxis/ Sightline AU is a strong voice
  • Deliver a well-informed POV in every meeting

Profit – 25%

  • Drive top and bottom line commercial success for your agency partner and Xaxis/ Sightline
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, proactively taking action to address any areas of concern
  • Form sales strategies and frameworks to ensure Xaxis/ Sightline is both market-leading and innovative
  • Generate incremental growth by leading client education and appreciation of innovative marketing solutions across the DOOH space
  • Ensure all clients have development plans to both qualitatively and quantitatively grow the business, and that those plans are delivered in full
  • Address additional client needs, so that income grows in line with targets set at the beginning of the year
  • Analyse trends, market positioning, and results to be able to identify future opportunities with ease
  • Partner with agencies on new business

People 25%

  • Provide leadership for Xaxis/ Sightline across sales and client development, working particularly closely with the client success teams to set the standard.
  • Live and breathe the GroupM values every day, regularly highlighting examples in team meetings
  • Promote open, collaborative, supportive and dynamic relationships throughout Xaxis/ Sightline and across the group
  • Maintain good motivation levels within the client engagement teams, liaising with the management team to ensure consistency
  • Coach client engagement leads to build outstanding client service. Ensure delivery against client expectations every time
  • Manage and develop team member’s careers through regular coaching and constructive feedback
  • Hold regular performance evaluation meetings with your team members throughout the year, set SMART KPIs and create a professional development plan for their advancement
  • Take immediate action to address any underperformance across the client engagement teams
  • Work with the general manager to oversee the recruitment of the best talent
  • Keep wider management team abreast of client and team challenges and opportunities and in turn communicating developments to your own team
  • Work collaboratively with the wider management team to promote culture, best practice, learning and development initiatives
  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure workflow and resource allocation in the team is managed effectively
  • Respond well to guidance and feedback from general manager and managing director

Product – 15%

  • Represent clients to the management team to ensure Xaxis/ Sightline solutions are relevant and future-proofed
  • Lead the development and adoption of global account-specific processes and standards to deliver on ad tech solutions,and share knowledge and findings with direct team and the wider business
  • Maintain a high level of quality control on all outputs from Xaxis/ Sightline
  • Continue to be knowledgeable in the commercial, strategic, and technical elements of all relevant products and services
  • Work with the head of product development to effectively engage clients and agencies, and to aid the adoption of products across Xaxis/ Sightline
  • Provide POVs and thought leadership regarding ad tech, DOOH, industry news or updates relevant to client and agency to address client needs and interests
  • Concern for quality and pride in all work produced. Consistently careful and methodical, with a strong eye for detail to ensure accuracy in all work delivered

Profile – 10%

  • Be a positive face of Xaxis/ Sightline at industry events, either related to client category or our media partners
  • Regularly network with clients, potential clients and senior media owners
  • Identify opportunities to provide thought leadership via Xaxis/ Sightline’s owned channels and industry press – press release breaking campaigns, industry viewpoints
