Job Overview

You will be responsible for organising and progressing our development work schedule across Network N’s brands including PCGamesN, Pocket Tactics, The Digital Fix, The Loadout, Wargamer, and PCGameBenchmark.

Here you will find yourself working with some amazing partners across the gaming industry, from creating websites for esports competitions to showcasing new game developer talent, and much more.

As our Project Manager, you will create well-written tasks that explain the work to be done by our team and assign that work to our talented team of developers. You’ll follow the tasks through their lifecycle to deployment. You will quality control the work that gets released and play a crucial role in our team as we work to produce high quality work in a timely manner.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the Head of Publishing Development to determine the priority and order of tasks.

  • Direct line management and performance management of a Quality Assurance employee.

  • Managing our task lifecycle. From creating easy-to-understand and comprehensive task briefs with our team, and assigning tasks and ensuring timely completion to our high standards.

  • Ensuring we keep a good pace of delivery with focus on work that benefits us commercially, improves our SEO, and makes our systems efficient for our editorial teams.

  • Working with our commercial team on innovative creative pitches; the agency team, Project N on exciting digital solutions for our world-leading clients; and our advertising network team, Publisher Collective, to further boost our revenue.

  • Troubleshooting website bugs: checking against requirements and designs and describing issues arising from testing for our team to fix.

  • Ensuring our daily time logs are updated by the team and compile monthly reports Assisting with the creation of client briefs and working with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Creating and maintaining documentation, ensuring it is well-written and updated regularly.

  • Throughout the project delivery, ensure that any issues are escalated in a timely manner and follow through to delivery

You will be expected to have:

  • Proven experience in project management and team workflow in a web development environment.

  • Working knowledge of waterfall and agile methodologies

  • Professional project management qualifications, such as PRINCE2 or equivalent qualification

  • Task management software experience. We use Asana.

  • Highly organised in your own work, and experience of organising the work of a development team.

  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in written English.

  • Good broad technical understanding of website development.

  • At least basic HTML and CSS knowledge so that you are able to QA a website as part of your role.

  • An understanding of technical SEO knowledge

  • Must be able to produce proof of right to work in the UK by the start of employment

Desirable to have:

  • A familiarity with WordPress, understanding of advanced technical SEO including Core Web Vitals, content syndication (RSS, XML), advertising technology, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics.

  • A good, broad technical knowledge of website creation and be able to communicate confidently with our development and creative teams. We’re not expecting you to be a developer, just sufficiently knowledgeable to discuss technical matters. Most of our tasks are about WordPress, SEO, redirects, CSS, and occasional API work. We are always learning new technologies and there are opportunities for you to learn about them with us.
