If you are excited by a technology that powers personalized content recommendations to more than 1/3 of the world’s online users, then this is the place for you! Outbrain seeks an experienced Customer Success Engineer to play a support role in expanding our Publisher Platform business.

You will be part of a growing team and a key part of its success. To succeed, you’ll need to be that person who thrives in a constantly changing, fast paced working environment, that is very typical for startups. You are a key technical resource and advisor during the sales cycle and deployment. You will assist and train the client, before, during and after product adoption, relying on your technical know-how combined with company and industry best practices. You will also work with internal and external parties to help solve technical issues quickly and appropriately. You are no stranger to and feel comfortable in talking with software engineers (mobile and web) about APIs/Javascript/SDKs.

You will excel in your role thanks to a close partnership with Business Development, Product Management, Engineering, and QA Teams resulting in successful implementation and use of Outbrain’s products. Your knowledge in the complex world of the publisher ecosystem, and recommendation and personalization technology are crucial for your success. You’ll be working and supporting the top customers in our industry, working alongside skillful people who will challenge you with complex technical and detailed configuration questions. You’ll need to be a people’s person to really blow it out of the park!

Responsibilities

  • Assist the sales team to better educate the client on our solutions while coming up with the right technical implementation to meet client objectives.
  • Make technical presentations and demonstrate product features
  • Implement, optimize and deploy Outbrain’s solutions alongside the customer’s technical teams
  • Utilize Outbrain's platforms and tools along with frontend CSS and JavaScript to successfully satisfy client requirements
  • Work with both internal and external parties to troubleshoot product issues, handle technical issues quickly and appropriately and manage client expectations
  • Provide technical know-how and best practices to ensure proper implementation of Outbrain solutions to both clients and Outbrain’s teams
  • Provide transparency on risks and dependencies; formulate and communicate contingency and mitigation plans when necessary
  • Facilitate conversations with all stakeholders, communicating status updates to ensure progress against plans

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a technical client services environment. Mobile environments a big plus
  • 3-5 years of experience with HTML, CSS, Scripting, server-side technologies (Node.js or PHP) and JavaScript
  • Self-starter who can adapt to a product-launch process while keeping up with the demanding needs of a fast-paced environment
  • Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Exceptional organization and prioritization skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written), collaborative team player
  • Ability to actively drive problems to resolution
  • Strong knowledge of Internet technologies and a demonstrated capacity to learn
  • Proficiency in XPath(ing)/Regex(ing) content
  • Knowledge of SQL not a must, but a bonus
  • Bonus: Experience using CRM products
  • Bonus: Expert knowledge of XML and RSS Feeds
