Job Overview

We are looking for top talent to lead our Strategic Initiatives team. The VP, Strategic initiatives will report into the Business Development group. This person will be responsible for establishing “lighthouse” business and relationship models for new business initiatives. We are looking for an experienced individual who is passionate about all things data and tech, and has extensive knowledge of the converging linear and digital advertising ecosystem. This person is accomplished in developing and implementing growth opportunities to create long term value for a highly focused advertising technology company.

The VP, Strategic Initiatives role is a forward looking role that is responsible for all aspects exploring and executing innovative, strategic initiatives that bolster and transform VideoAmp’s business to reflect new opportunities in the digital video, walled garden, OTT, connected and linear TV advertising environment. Given the broad objectives of this role, the VP, Strategic Initiatives will need to work cross functionally with teams across VideoAmp’s various businesses, including Executives, Strategy, Partnerships, Product, Revenue, Finance, and Legal teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish “lighthouse” business and relationship models for new business initiatives that can be replicated by the Partnerships team with other similar partners.
  • Work cross-functionally with Executives, Strategy, Partnerships, Product, Revenue, Finance, and Legal teams to manage and build partnerships based on strategic planning and client need.
  • Help build business cases and evaluate new opportunities and serve as the subject matter expert on these opportunities in support of the Enterprise Sales team and other internal teams.
  • Work with the Finance and Revenue teams to build and validate financial models for all new opportunities.
  • Work with Product, Corporate Development and Finance teams to evaluate Make vs. Buy decisions associated with new markets or opportunities.
  • Work with the Partnerships team to establish prospective partner lists and benchmarks for validated and approved initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication internally and externally related to partnerships; based on demand, strategy, roadmaps, and operational requirements.
  • Maintain regular communications with internal stakeholders to report on status and future opportunities.
  • Working with senior team members to identify and manage company risks that might prevent or restrict growth.
  • Participate as a key member in due diligence exercises associated with M&A opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience attacking strategic moats and initiatives where outside the box deal structure, and/or change in partner processes, product/business model, and/or C-suite engagement is required.
  • Experience structuring and negotiating complex business models.
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role within the AdTech, Digital and/or Linear Advertising space and a deep understanding of the advertising landscape.
  • 10+ years experience with client and/or partner-facing on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ability to build excellent rapport with internal and external stakeholders; strong teamwork is a must.
  • Comfort with fast-paced, dynamic working environment with shifting priorities.
  • College degree preferred
